Annette Magnusson
ADB International Investment Law and Policy Expert (Consultant)

Annette Magnusson is an independent expert in international climate law, international investment law and dispute resolution, and the role of lawyers in the climate transition. She is engaged as consultant in the technical assistance program “Strengthening Knowledge in Regional Trade Agreements and International Investment Agreements for Greater Regional Integration and Promotion of Sustainable Development Goals in ADB Developing Member Countries” (TA 10067).
Annette has more than 25 years’ experience in international law, including from global law firms. Prior to her engagement as an independent expert, Annette served as Secretary General of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC).
Annette co-chairs the Panel of Experts to develop the Paris Agreement Conciliation Annex, is a member of the Task Force on ISDS and Climate Change of the American Society of International Law (ASIL), and founder of the crowdsourcing initiative The Stockholm Treaty Lab. She is the co-editor of several international publications, including Arbitrating for Peace (2016), International Arbitration in Sweden. A Practitioner’s Guide (2021), and Investment Arbitration and Climate Change (2023), and producer of the documentary The Quiet Triumph (2017), a film about peaceful resolution of disputes.
