ADB Presents Draft Report on E-commerce Law in Mongolia

ADB in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Development and Communications (MDDC) of Mongolia, conducted further stakeholder consultation on the draft report on e-commerce law in Mongolia 20 January 2023 as part of the Technical Assistance on Enabling a Conducive Environment for the Digital Economy of the Law and Policy Reform of ADB. The report reviews the legal framework for e-commerce in Mongolia and provides recommendations for further enhancement and international harmonization.
 
Consultants John Gregory and Delgermaa Anbat provided the presentations on the draft report. Ms. Solongo Maltar, Senior Officer of Post and E-Commerce Policy of the Policy and Planning Department of the MDDC, and Mr. Luca Castellani of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) provided remarks as part of the program.
 
The webinar was attended by various representatives including those from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). It is a follow through from the 16 December 2022 stakeholder consultation that was specifically designed for, or directed to, Mongolian government agencies and business associations located in Mongolia including authorities from foreign affairs, customs, tax, among others.
