Forest Conservation Act, 1980

Section 2 provides for the restriction of powers of authorities to cancel the status of forests as reserved forests and prohibits the use of forest land for non-forest purposes (other than reafforestation). Section 3 grants the right to the Central Government to constitute a forest conservation advisory committee and provides for regulation making powers of the Central Government to carry out provisions of this Act.
