The Model Forest Act Initiative Gains Momentum at United Nations Forum on Forests

The Model Forest Act Initiative (MoFAI) gained significant traction at the recent 19th Session of the United Nations Forum on Forests held in New York City (6-10 May 2024). The Asian Development Bank (ADB) delegation actively championed MoFAI throughout the event. A key highlight was a policy discussion session on May 6th, featuring a co-presentation by Patricia Kameri-Mbote (Director of Law Division, United Nations Environment Programme) and Christina Pak (Principal Counsel, ADB). This session served as an introduction of MoFAI to a broad audience of policymakers and demonstrated the growing global recognition and support for MoFAI.
