ADB Wins Outstanding Industry Collaboration Award from the Islamic Banking and Finance Institute Malaysia

ADB won the Outstanding Industry Collaboration Award given by the Islamic Banking and Finance Institute Malaysia (IBFIM) in Kuala Lumpur. The award recognizes ADB's efforts to provide financial services to all segments of the population and strengthen the capacity of Philippine regulation and private sector participants.  

As part of a commitment to increasing financial inclusion, ADB collaborated with IBFIM to develop talent and skilled professionals in Islamic finance. This was achieved through the development of AQIF ON THE GO, a IBFIM self-study program for participants from the Islamic finance industry, other relevant sectors, and other general users. The program was created to advance Shariah principles, its application, and ethics, as well as provide an overview of the regulatory framework that governs the Malaysian financial landscape. 

The award was presented by YBhg. Tan Sri Dr. Mohd Daud Bakar, Founder and Executive Chairman of the Amanie Group, at the 4th IBFIM Certification Conferment Ceremony on 25 February 2023 and was attended by over 1,000 participants including guests from the Islamic finance industry.  

35 Philippine candidates have successfully attained the Associate Qualification in Islamic Finance, an internationally recognized certification on Shariah principles and ethics and their application to regulatory framework governing the financial landscape.
