ADB Launches Investment Governance Program in Mongolia
On 23–25 March 2026, the Asian Development Bank led consultations in Mongolia on strengthening investor confidence and the country’s investment environment.
Discussions focused on how a coherent foreign direct investment legal framework, effective dispute prevention and management, and stronger intra-governmental coordination can attract sustainable foreign investment, reduce investment risks, and support economic diversification. Consultations were held with representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Development, the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs, members of the judiciary, academic institutions, private sector stakeholders, and international development partners.
The Investment Governance Program will be supported over 2026–2028 through ADB’s Law and Policy Reform Program under the Office of the General Counsel, in collaboration with the East Asia Department and Mongolia Resident Mission. The program aims to strengthen the country’s legal and institutional frameworks to promote a more transparent, stable, and investment-friendly climate and unlock sustainable private sector-led growth for Mongolia.
