Executive Order No. 774 of 2008: Reorganizing the Presidential Task Force on Climate Change (Philippines)

The Executive Order reorganizes the Presidential Task Force on Climate Change with the President serving as the Chair. The cabinet members shall be members of the Task Force. All sectors under the President are directed to cooperate toward the fulfillment of the vision and goals of sustainable development. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources shall lead a Task Group in the implementation of solid waste management. The Executive Order also directs the formation of Task Groups on Solid Waste Management, Protected Areas, Watershed Protection, Clean Water Conservation, Rainwater Conservation, Water Recycling, Atmospheric Activities, Fossil Fuels, Information, Fisheries, Agriculture, Education, Foreign Affairs, Renewable Energy, CPR Economics, Traditional Medicine, and Rooftop Structures. The Task Groups are generally given specific and immediate targets which they are mandated to achieve within a specific timeframe. The Presidential Adviser on Climate Change is directed to report on the progress of the initiatives to the President every 72 hours.
