Establishment of the Climate Change Service, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Administrative Order No. 13 of 2016 (Philippines)

The Administrative Order creates the Climate Change Service in the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), replacing the Climate Change Office, to oversee the implementation of functions and responsibilities given to the Department by the Climate Change Act, National Climate Change Plan and other issuances. It will focus on the department's climate change issues, project planning, climate proofing of programs and projects, monitoring of programs and roadmap, program budgeting, and dissemination of climate change information. The Administrative Order sets out the functions and responsibilities of the Climate Change Service, which include ensuring that climate change issues are mainstreamed in DENR overall plans, serving as a repository and clearing house for climate change information and knowledge products, formulating guidelines for the DENR and its units for mainstreaming Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction in the various programs and activities of the DENR, among others. The Administrative Order also provides for the organization and funding, as well as the focal persons in the DENR offices of the Climate Change Service.
