ADB Signs MoU to Operationalize Cambodia's First Commercial Court

On 17 February, an MOU signing ceremony was held with CD Jyotsana Varma and Minister of Justice Excellency Koeut Rith to mark an important step towards operationalizing Cambodia's first commercial court which is a top priority of the MOJ.

ADB agreed to assist in the development of efficient, fair, and effective commercial court procedures and work with the Royal Academy of Judicial Professions to train judges who will adjudicate commercial disputes. The Minister of Justice expressed his deep appreciation for ADB's support. CARM CD considered it as an indispensable move to help Cambodia attract and retain high-quality investment by establishing a business climate that operates in a clear and predictable legal framework, with a reliable, efficient and transparent dispute resolution system.
